The optimal gearing of project management and configuration management is a decisive factor of success in every project.

In Bubenreuth this exciting subject attracted the attention of more than 50 auditors of the ASQF section project management.

In his lecture Thomas Obermüller, senior project manager und CM consultant for elego, gave an overview of cm support which is necessary from project management's point of view on one hand and basic CM activities, approved CM methods, concepts, and practices on the other hand.

Finally possibilities and methods of resolution for an ideal interplay of both disciplines were highlighted and open CM implementation strategies regarding to this interaction presented.

The motivated discussion following the talk and the feedback of the attendants indicated that there exists a considerable potential for improvements in practice and that the talk could provide useful incitements for such improvements.
