Open Source Software has been increasingly penetrating the domains of commercial software in recent years.

Professional configuration management tools (version control, change control, build management, project automation) which are free of license fees are in particular gaining ground. These open source tools are now virtually the equivalent of their commercial competitors.

The requirements of process reference and evaluation models such as CMMI or SPICE can also be met by skillfully employing open source tools

Together with our partner GfKM we provide professional support for:

  • implementation of royalty-free tools
  • full or partial transition from commercial cm systems
  • adaption of new systems to the enterprise’s processes
  • integration into previously existing tool environments
  • migration of data
  • benchmarking and evaluation of various solutions

The introduction of new tools is always a good opportunity for an organization to evaluate and if necessary improve its configuration, change, and requirements management processes. CMII as a concrete CM reference process that completely integrates change and requirements management provides a very strong base for process optimization.

If you’d like to be informed of today’s possibilities in the field of open source tools or if you would like to know how you can leverage these tools in combination with CMII to improve your organization’s software development process, please don't hesitate to contact us.
