For 5 days during June this year, Berlin will again sit in the spotlight of the global Subversion Community. elego is proud to host the third Apache Subversion Hackathon from 11th to 15h of June, as well as Subversion Day 2012 on 14th of June.

Meet Apache Subversion committers, professional Subversion users and other Subversion experts to exchange valuable experience and knowledge.
The upgrade to Subversion 1.7, first hands-on experience with this new version, employing Subversion's capabilities to their fullest extent during day-to-day software development, and Subversion's own development towards the 1.8 release are but a small part of the rich agenda of Subversion Day.
C. Michael Pilato, Subversion core committer and co-author of the book "Version Control with Subversion" (O’Reilly 2004) will hold the keynote. Other committers will contribute advanced technical talks about wide-ranging and popular topics such as new developments in Subversion's merge feature and integration of Subversion with enterprise IT infrastructure.
Likewise, user talks will not be lacking. Topics include integration of Subversion in special-purpose IDEs, proper data management in the context of network infrastructure, as well as sophisticated backup and recovery strategies.
Between talks there will be ample time for face-to-face conversations. These exchanges provide vital inspiration to take away from the event and apply to the company's own Subversion deployment back home.
If you would like to actively discuss and elaborate on practical backup and recovery strategies or effective Subversion server management, you should visit one of the workshops held by Subversion committers. These will take place on the day prior to the SVN Day conference, on 13th of June, 2012. Additionally, Subversion committers will be hosting an introductory workshop on using graphical Subversion clients as well a workshop about practical solutions for bridging Subversion and Git.
The attendance fee for the Subversion Day is 295 € exclusive of the value added tax. The attendance fee for a workshop is 295 € exclusive of the value added tax.
Furthermore, all participants are once again invited to a barbecue on the evening of June 13th in our yard. On a warm summer evening, the cultural monument of brickwork buildings that originally housed a turbine factory of the former AEG company provide the ideal setting for relaxed conversation – not only about Subversion ;-) Your attendance is thus worthwhile in any case.
